33 years ago Jaclyn Smith pioneered the celebrity fashion collaboration by launching her line of Jaclyn Smith clothing with Kmart. For decades women have known that if they’re in search of traditional yet fun clothing that’s easy to care for they can go to Kmart and score some Jaclyn Smith. But that’s changing…
Jaclyn Smith Clothing is now available at Sears.
We were invited to a meet and greet with Jaclyn Smith at Sears in Torrance and there are a few things you should know about both the collection and the woman behind the brand.
The Jaclyn Smith Collection is appropriate for work and for play. We picked out outfits for ourselves that would transition beautifully from office to coffee with friends. All of the pants we tried from the spring line were made with quality fabrics that flattered our figures, never too bulky or fussy. There were some great low heels we tried on and in addition to being lightweight, they were very well padded at the ball of your foot. Everyone who wears heels knows this matters, comfort is key.
Jaclyn’s recurring theme with her clothing was to, “make it your own.” She also had some interesting insight into being a business owner and surrounding yourself with great people. We did notice that everyone who worked with her had been there long term and there were no ridiculous egos. Just a bunch of folks all working hard to create something wonderful. It was refreshing.
Another refreshing thing was the clothing. The spring collection was inspired by Jaclyn’s garden. There are some great print tops, all with coordinating solid pants (so practical) and WeAreMidlife is ready to share some of that with all of you.
We did a fun appearance with Jaclyn Smith and Sears on KTLA. In case you missed it here is the segment.
Here’s what we wore:
Stefanie’s floral top gives a nod to the kimono style everyone’s been wearing and the pants are a really great fabric that’s thin enough to be cozy and thick enough to flatter. You can buy the blouse here and the pants here.
Jessica is wearing navy microfiber pants with a snakeskin sleeveless top for springtime. We couldn’t find the sleeveless top on the website (yet!) but the cowl neck version is here and it’s very affordable. We decided on a front tuck for the blouse but it would also make a great shell under a blazer for the office.
To celebrate Jaclyn Smith Ready to Wear coming to Sears we are gifting one reader a $100 gift card.
