One of the many fun things that have happened since Jessica and I started our Instagram has been the opportunity to meet amazing people along the way.

Recently, I was lucky enough to meet J’Amy Tarr from San Francisco.

I, having lived in Northern California for a good chunk of time, have a special place in my heart for all things San Franciscan. J’Amy, a native of the Bay Area, launched a line of coats, jackets, and capes that are elegant and sophisticated in 2013. J’Amy has designed many of her coats and jackets with the moderate California weather in mind. I recently wore one of J’Amy’s beautiful jacquard bomber jackets for a week of college touring with my daughter over her spring break.

The weather was moderate (too cold for my southern California disposition), and I needed a lightweight jacket that would take me from day to evening, and this jacket fits the ticket perfectly. The bomber jacket is most definitely fit without being too fitted, the sleeves are long enough that when I raised my hand (I was touring colleges!) it did not pull up to my elbows (why does this happen?), I could zip the jacket without the waist being too small and it never felt too tight in the shoulders.

The leather trim on the pockets adds a level of detail that I particularly love. I wore this jacket mostly with black denim jeans, but I did enjoy the night that my daughter and I went to a more upscale dinner it dressed up quite nicely. Living in Southern California we don’t often need coats or jackets that are too warm, especially in the spring, but J’Amy has nailed this lightweight outerwear in the best of ways.

This jacket will take me from Spring to Fall to Winter most definitely. To see all of J’Amy’s collection visit jamytarr.com

  1. I really like their Knit Bomber Jacket – Cherry Blossom alot. I also love the The Cape in Cabernet too, (I would have said black but gosh it would collect every piece of fur) I have always wanted a cape like this.
